VinylMoon – Garden Of Echoes – Vol 071

Every month, VinylMoon brand is preparing special playlists and create special vinyl editions with it. I’ve been asked to design the volume “071” and had total freedom to create a concept and realize the artwork for the music compilation of this volume 071.

The title of my vinyl design is “Garden Of Echoes“.One of the main inspiration for the project are the “antique tales books” with their beautiful covers made only with “embossed silver or golden lineart.

I wanted to create a “visual reinterpretation” of these antique tales books and stories like “Alice in Wonderland”, and give it a more contemporary approach. The objective through this design was to create a visual and auditive experience to invite the viewer to “dive” into a surrealist and nature inspired world.
The selection of instrumental songs of the vinyl connect with the visuals to make the viewers enter in this audiovisual experience.

Visually speaking, I wanted to create a strong contrast between the exterior and interior of the vinyl packaging. The exterior is made only with 2 colors, and essentially with lines.

When the viewer opens the packaging he/she gets absorbed by a colorful spiral and enter into a surrealist & colorful landscape that is contrasting with the exterior look. The pressing of the vinyl is a special limited edition “Deluxe tip-on style triple gatefold” jacket with spot UV accents inside and metallic ink on the exterior front and back panels covers.

“Garden Of Echoes” it’s featuring 9 tracks picked specially to fit with this artistic project.
